There are hundreds of email marketing software vendors from which to choose for your business.
Moreover, there are hundreds of different variables that factor in your decision to the question, “Which Email Marketing Software is right for my business?”
There are “purpose variables” or “strategy variables”, i.e., “How am I going to use Email Marketing?”:
- Do you intend to send a sequential series of sales emails to a prospect?
- Do you intend to send followups to customers upon purchase?
- Do you intend to cross-sell or up-sell current customers?
- Will you employ surveys to gather information about your subscribers?
- Do you plan to send a monthly newsletter to your customers, prospects, employees?
Also, there are “technical variables”, i.e., “What kind of website / e-commerce integration needs must I consider?”, or “Can my IT staff accommodate servers to deploy our own in-house system?”
- Can I securely pass relevant customer information from my shopping cart into my email system?
- Do we have the needed expertise in white-listing our IPs and managing the technical side of deliverability?
- What kind of server and network infrastructure is required to deploy my strategy, in-house?
- Do all of your authors, contributors have the needed HTML skills, or marketing skills to deploy sophisticated, targeted email messages with customized content per segment? How difficult is it to deploy these campaigns – do we have the expertise to understand this?
